About us
Same background in numbers, two experiences that complement each other
We’re the two founding partners behind this project. We prefer to introduce ourselves as a team. What you can find here is our academic background, our professional experience and how we work with each client.
Background
A joint degree in Economics and Statistics
Both founders share the same academic background: a joint degree in Economics, from the Universitat de Barcelona, and Statistics, from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. It’s an unusual combination for an accounting firm, and it’s what shapes how we look at a client’s numbers.
Economics · Universitat de Barcelona
The basis for understanding tax rules, regulation and how a business actually works, beyond day-to-day paperwork.
Statistics · Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya
The basis for handling a business’s data rigorously: spotting patterns, building indicators, and not stopping at a single quarter’s snapshot.
Experience
Two career paths that complement each other
The academic background is shared; the professional experience is complementary. That’s what lets us look at your accounts from inside an accounting firm while also understanding how money, data and regulation move in other kinds of organisations.
Head of accounting and tax at an accounting firm
One part of the team was the senior person responsible for the accounting and tax areas of an accounting firm, directly responsible for those areas and for managing real clients, month after month.
Private companies, public sector, finance and regulation
The other part of the team has worked across private companies, the public sector, the financial sector and regulatory bodies: a perspective on how the economy, data and regulation actually work outside an accounting firm.
How we work
What we do differently from a typical accounting firm
Rigour, backed by official sources
What we tell you, and what we publish, is based on Tax Agency and official gazette (BOE) regulation, not on what everyone else does.
A balance sheet you can actually read
Your accounts aren’t just the paperwork you have to file: they’re information that should help you decide.
Data and technology, not just a spreadsheet
Statistics isn’t a line on a CV: we use it to automate processes and to look at your business with more perspective.
Direct contact, no middlemen
You talk to whoever handles your accounting, not a general inbox or a department that doesn’t know you.
Editorial rigour
Why you can trust what we publish
Everything we write about tax and accounting (in the blog, the FAQs, the simulator) follows the same standard.
Official sources, not second-hand ones
We rely on Tax Agency regulation and the official gazette (BOE), not on what other accounting blogs say.
Reviewed and kept up to date
Tax rules change. When something relevant changes, we update the affected content instead of leaving it outdated.
General information isn’t personal advice
What you read here is general information. Your specific situation may have nuances: that’s what the call is for, not the article.
